Remembering
Coincidences... Steve Jobs had a large impact on our culture. With his passing yesterday, I am reminiscent of the history of Apple and the way its products have shaped what I do and the way I do it (computers, software, ipods, etc). He died at age 56 on Oct 5, 2011.
I have had on my ToDo list to post a video I made back in 2003 of two people who also had an impact on my life. They were Dawn Sebesta and Jim Messinger. Among other volunteer activities such as serving on the board of Ballet West, being a docent at the Hogle Zoo, and a chairwoman of Hawkwatch International, Dawn was deeply involved with RINS (Raptor Inventory Nesting Survey) of which I volunteered for a few years. Dawn and Jim were killed in a small plane accident in Utah on Oct 4, 2003. Dawn was also 56.
Here is the video:
I know it's generic, but thanks to all those who have and continue to impact my life for the better. Thanks for your passion for what you do. Thanks for making a difference in this life.
